Manchester United have agreed to complete the signing of Real Madrid defender.
French defender Raphael Varane has agreed to complete his move to Manchester United from Spanish giant Real Madrid.
We take a look at the qualities Varane will bring to the Red Devil's defense and what to expect from him.
1. Experience: Varane joined Real Madrid in 2011 from the french side Lens. And he had gone on to make over 300 appearances partnering Sergio Ramos in so many games, and have 79 caps to himself while playing for France, he played 4 games in the completed Euros 2020. He has gained a lot of experience and has Wining mentality with Real Madrid.
He won 18 Major trophies which include; 4 UEFA Champions league, 3 La Liga titles, 1 Copa del rey, 4 FIFA World cup titles. He also won the World cup with France in 2018. He is coming to Manchester United he is bringing in a lot of experience into their defense.
2. Strengthening the defense: United have Harry Maguire who is a decent defender who need a strong partner at the back which Varane will fit in which will strengthen the defense. He has the speed, he can also move the ball.
3. Set piece situation: United conceded 14 goals from set pieces ( excluding penalties) last season the only team to concede more than the Red Devil is Leeds United who conceded 15 goals. The physical presence of Varane will help in set piece situation, he is 1.91m tall which help to head the ball out in set piece situation.
