These little boxes are perfect for packaging up homemade treats. They fit chocolate covered strawberries perfectly, just saying. If you slip some wax paper or cupcake liners inside, you can use them for homemade candies, cookies, or a multitude of other delicious treats. Heck, they don’t even need to be homemade. Use these boxes to dress up store-bought treats and people will be so delighted with the cute package they’ll never know!
To make this project, you will need:
Materials
12×12 Double Sided Scrapbook Paper (cardstock/heavy weight is better)
Ruler
Scoring Tool (I used a scoring blade in my paper cutter)
Adhesive (glue stick, tape runner, double sided tape)
Scissors
Instructions
Step 1: Measure out the lines shown in the photo below and score them into the paper. There are four horizontal lines and two vertical lines. I traced my lines with a pen so you could see them in the photos, but you don’t want to do this when you’re actually making a box.
Step 2: Cut along the horizontal lines from the outside edge of the paper to the line that’s two inches in. Do not make any vertical cuts. You should have eight cuts total, forming little flaps along both sides of the paper.
Step 3: Fold in the bottom two square tabs. Skip over the rectangular tab and fold over the next two square tabs. Add a good amount of adhesive to all four squares.
Step 4: Fold the four tabs in towards each other and press them against the rectangular tabs. This will form the bottom part of the box. Make sure all of the corners and top edges line up.
Step 6: Fold the two square flaps over onto the two remaining rectangular flaps and stick them in place, lining up the corners and edges. This forms the box lid.
Add your treats inside, tie it with a bow, add a cute tag and your gift is ready to brighten someone’s day.
